| Movie actress Ravali will make her debut on the small screen with Namo Venkatesha, a Telugu socio-mythological from Saregama TV. The company hopes the serial "will take centrestage in Andhra Pradesh households with its stellar cast" which includes the evergreen Sarath Babu, veteran actors Kantha Rao and Kota Shankar Rao along with a galaxy of stars from the Telugu film and television world. The other prominent stars are Padmanabham, Jyothilakshmi, Adabala, Satheesh, Pallavi, Sudarshan and Varalakshmi.
Explaining why Namo Venkatesha is different from other productions, KR Kumar, business head, Saregama TV, said, "Saregama, which has produced two successful Tamil serials, Velan and Soolam, leverages its expertise and success in the production of socio-mythologicals with the new serial. Namo Venkatesha is produced on a grand scale and will treat the Telugu audiences to a whole new small screen experience. This is in keeping with Saregama's commitment to produce quality programmes without compromising on the production values".
Namo Venkatesha has a variety of exciting features that add interest to the script. Featured for the first time are 35 dwarfs who make up Vamanapuri, the miniature village. Saregama also brings in surreal characters - Batman, Adiseshan, a talking mynah, and Paadala Bhairavi, the gruesome Goddess with one eye.
Directed by BR Vijayalakshmi and scripted by Vietnam Veedu Sundaram, Namo Venkatesh aims to present the grandeur of the Mahabharata combined with the fantasies of Krishna Leela in a Telugu context. |
