Movie channel HBO features HBO Generation Me, showcasing programmes targeted at the youth. The programme will air every Monday at 3:45 pm beginning June 2, 2003.

HBO Generation Me will have two programmes back to back, starting with the countdown show on weekly box office hits in Box Office America followed by special premieres, blockbusters, movies on rising stars in a novel format that changes every week.

Talking about how the concept of HBO Generation Me came about, James P Marturano, managing director, HBO South Asia, said, "HBO is a trendsetter. The youth are recognised by HBO as an important group of audience who should have their own programming slot that is most convenient for their viewing." He added, "HBO believes in giving the youth what they want. HBO Generation Me is not just another montage of movies slapped together but the different sub-categories provide an element of variety and freshness for the brand."

Box Office America is fast-paced and newsy, with the countdown of the Top 10 movies in America every week. It is a half-hour show focusing on the latest movie news. There are interviews with stars and directors every week and HBO gets special access to behind-the-scenes at film locations. Box Office America would be followed up with exclusive blockbuster movies categorised under 'My Premiere', 'My Choice', 'Hot Favourites' and 'Young Hollywood'.

To kick off HBO Generation Me, the channel has lined up Simon Sez and comedy flick Sugar and Spice for My Premiere.

On Young Hollywood one can catch the blonde Reese Witherspoon as an obnoxious high school overachiever running for student body presidency, who finds herself being opposed by an unlikely candidate in the hilarious teen comedy Election. The Mummy would be shown in Hot Favourites.

On My Choice, a new resident of a run-down apartment gets advice on love and life from thousands of talking cockroaches that live there in the hilarious comedy Joe###SQ###s Apartment.
