ZEE News to launch ZEE Follow Up

ZEE News, the Hindi news channel from ZEE Network, will be launching 'ZEE Follow Up', a show that aims to "trace the destiny of cases, years after the camera lens turned away from them", on May 31 at 7.30 pm.

"The programme will re-visit those people and places, which had once been all too familiar. It will pick up the loose ends of a number of stories that made headlines but somewhere down the line lost their steam," says Alka Saxena, editor and head of programming, ZEE News.

The first episode will focus on Mandi Dabwali, where on December 23, 1995, a fire at a school left 442 persons dead, out of which 258 were children. The show traces the lives of these hapless victims almost seven years after the incident.

Each episode will concentrate on "forgotten stories", attempting to take them to their "logical conclusion".

Meanwhile sister channel, ZEE TV, will launch Urja, a show on Vipassana techniques and practices on June 1, 2003 at 9.00 am. Conceptualised by Acharya Goenka of Dhammagiri Vipassana, the show aims to consolidate the channel's Sunday morning line-up, which among others, has the fitness programme, Good Health Show, telecast at 12.30 pm.

ZEE Network's English channel, namely, ZEE English, is set to telecast the 52nd edition of the Miss Universe pageant live from Panama City on June 4 at 7.30 am.

A curtain raiser will precede the main show on June 1 at 9.00 pm with exclusive footage of Indian representative, Nikita Anand.
