Timeshop and P&G launch talent hunt across south India

Timeshop Advertising & Marketing and Proctor & Gamble have come together to launch a talent hunt in the four southern states of India (Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh). Those willing to participate in this contest can do so by collecting the participation coupons through either of the following ways:

* Buy any one of the two Timeshop Music cassettes from a music shop or the company's mobile vans and collect the participation coupon available inside the cassettes, or purchase a pack of Tide washing powder with which the cassettes are being given free.

* Prospects will have to fill the participation coupon and record any one song from the cassette and one of their own choice on a cassette.

Prominent judges will scan the valid entries and the shortlisted candidates will be called for the final audition. For the audition, the state of Kerala will be divided according to pre-defined zones and the entire audition process will be done at the zonal level. The final audition process will be shot in a programme format and will be telecast on Surya TV in Kerala and leading satellite channels in the other three states. The winner will get an opportunity to sing for the Timeshop Music Album.

The talent hunt is being promoted heavily on television. Event promos are already on air on Surya TV. Interestingly, the event will be promoted by on ground events as well. About eight-10 key cities of each state will host a musical/orchestra event. Selected contestants from the zonal levels - not necessarily the eventual winner - will perform with other artistes in these ground events to make the event popular at a local level.
