A new series portraying contemporary India, Discover India premiered on Discovery Channel on April 5 and is aired every Saturday between 9.00 and 10.00 pm with the repeat telecast on Sundays from 9.00 to 10.00 am. Eighteen films made by world-renowned producers will be showcased over April, May and June.

This series hopes to will bring to the viewers across India and the world a glimpse of India that goes beyond the clichéd images of temples, holy men and the Taj Mahal.

Some of the programmes that will be featured in Discover India are Great Cats of India, Himalayas - Descending India, Immortal Capital - Many Cities of Delhi, Arthur C. Clark's Mysterious India, Konarak - Chariot of the Sun, Wild and Dangerous and Buddha's Mountain Wilderness.
