| Despite the current conflict in neighbouring Iraq, the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) most popular cricketing event, the Sharjah Cup will be held as per schedule on April 3, 2003 with live and exclusive telecast on Ten Sports. Promoted by Abdul Rehman Bukhatir, the UAE-based business tycoon who also controls Taj Television, holding company of Ten Sports, the Sharjah Cup this year will feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Zimbabwe. The venue for the tournament is the Sharjah C.A Stadium with the finals to be played on April 10, 2003.
Carrying a prize money of $105,000, the tournament will consist of seven one-day matches that will be telecast from 4 pm Indian Standard Time (IST). The line-up of commentators includes Sanjay Manjrekar, Ranjit Fernando, Mike Haysman and Rameez Raza. |
