| As Sahara India Pariwar plans a big bang entry into the news channel turf, several other media initiatives have been lined up simultaneously. Most of these are focused on print. The media house already has national Hindi daily newspaper Rashtriya Sahara, which appears from three centres currently. More print initiatives include a 48-page, newspaper-size Hindi weekly magazine Sahara Samay, which will be launched with one national edition and 30 city editions. Sahara Time, a 48-page, newspaper-size English weekly magazine, will be launched with one national edition and four city-editions. An Urdu international weekly Aalmi Sahara will be launched to reach out to Urdu readers across the globe. The Urdu daily newspaper Roznama Rashtriya Sahara, which is currently published from three centers, will have four more editions to cover seven centers across India. Also planned is the launch of Sahara Swar - satellite radio channels on Mumbai suburban trains offering entertainment and news.
According to a prepared note issued by the company, "All this, coupled with the forthcoming mega entertainment programmes on the popular 24-hour, digital, free-to-air, Hindi entertainment channel Sahara TV ensures that Sahara Media & Entertainment becomes the largest media and entertainment network in the country." |
