In the second programme from the new BBC World six-part series of Face to Face Pakistan (to be telecast at 10.00 pm on March 12), Mahvesh Murad meets renowned Pakistani novelist Kamila Shamsie. Face to Face Pakistan is BBC World's new weekly intimate chat show in Pakistan and features interviews with different celebrities from all walks of life, getting them to reveal the sides of their characters rarely exposed to public view.

Although literature in English has been present in South Asia for many years it is only in the 20th Century that it has been brought to international attention. Mahvesh Murad meets a young woman who has helped in bringing South Asian writing in English to the attention of the world. The winner of a number of awards and considered a promising talent, Kamila Shamsie is well known both in and outside Pakistan. In this interview Kamila Shamsie talks about her writing, her success, her relationship with Pakistan and her family.
