For the distribution of NDTV###SQ###s English and Hindi news channels, SET-Discovery One Alliance is giving out 5,000 decoder boxes (of the 10,000) in the first three months. NDTV will use Iredeto boxes. Now as a result of this development, in order to view the NDTV channels, cable operators have two options in front of them. Either the cable operator will have to pay Rs 3,500 for one decoder box or Rs 6,500 for the two channels (Hindi and English news channel).
