On the 135th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Discovery Channel will premiere a film on the Father of the Nation - Men of our time: Gandhi. The film, narrated by famous Hollywood director, James Cameron, chronicles his political journey, from the courts of Cape Town, South Africa, to the non-violent struggle against the British Raj in India.

Airing as part of the popular Discover India series, the film will premiere on Saturday, October 2, at 8 pm and there will be a repeat telecast on Sunday, October 3, at 1 pm.

The film features rare archival footage from the period, together with original recordings of his speeches. The programme highlights Gandhi's pivotal role in India's struggle for independence and his vision of a nation that would rise above the limitations of class, caste, community and religion.
