| Kids channel POGO has launched three new shows Sitting Ducks, ALF (Alien Life Form) and Gilligan's Island in the 5.30 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm time bands.
The shows will be telecast from Monday to Friday and belong to three different genres - animation, science fiction and comedy.
Sister channel Cartoon Network has also launched a new show Archie's Weird Mysteries in the 5.00 pm band on Saturdays, based on the famous comic-book character Archie Andrews and his Riverdale pals Betty, Veronica, Reggie and Jughead.
The POGO shows meanwhile are award-winning properties, with Sitting Ducks adapted from Michael Bedard's book of the same name. The show deals with the friendship of a duck named Bill with an alligator Aldo.
ALF, on the other hand, is the story of Gordon Shumway, the last known survivor of the planet Melmac, who crash-lands in the Tanner family garage in America. The Tanners lovingly call him ALF and the series deals with the new dimension he brings into the family.
Gilligan's Island is a comedy about an eclectic bunch of people who are stranded on an island in the Pacific Ocean. |
