Businessworld launched the second edition of Businessworld-NID Design Excellence Awards. The forum for recognizing the best in Indian design was a first of its kind in India.

In its first year in 2003, a seven-member jury comprising leading international and Indian design consultants and academics judged over 100 entries and came up with winners in 6 categories.

Keeping in mind latest industry trends, the scope of the Businessworld-NID Design Excellence Awards 2004 has been expanded to eight categories (and 26 sub-categories) in product and graphic design. The categories added this year include Furniture Design and Interface Design, two industries that have seen tremendous growth in the recent past.
