| The Bhaskar group of publications has launched the national edition of Divya Bhaskar from Mumbai on Saturday, July 10, 2004. The group has 28 editions and a presence in 9 states.
The publication feels that Mumbai being the city outside Gujarat, which hosts the maximum number of Gujaratis, would be an ideal platform for the launch of national edition. The national edition from Mumbai would keep the Gujarati community updated with the happenings in India and around the world in a language of their own.
The launch function was held at Ravindranath Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai. The first issue was launched by Sushil Kumar Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra. Former Union minister, Pramod Mahajan was also present at the function and jointly released the first issue of the newspaper. |
