Pune-based Sakal Newspapers has automated its workflow with the implementation of an end-to-end media solution from Siemens Information Systems. The solution, according to Abhijit Pawar, director, Sakal Newspapers, will enable the group to strike a balance between creating better products and improving customer service while drastically cutting down on production costs. "It will act as a strong backend system as well as aid in the production of a digital page," he says.

Sourced from SAP and PPI Media, Germany, the end-to-end solution was put together in eight months with an automated editorial system also implemented at the same time. Features of the solution include digital production using an advertising management software with online integration of planning, production and assembly.

Alongside, the group has recruited a team of competent media professionals and is set to unveil an advertiser development programme to help structure ad sales around the client. The programme includes learnings from across the globe, and is aimed at helping the client get maximum value and return on investment.
