| March 7, 2004, saw the final round of the VJ Hunt organised by SS Music in Hyderabad. Present on the occasion were leading cine stars and celebrities of the city, who were on the panel of judges.
The Hyderabad leg of the contest commenced on March 4, with the elimination round continuing into the following day on March 5. It follows successful hunts held at Bangalore and Chennai, where the channel received an overwhelming response.
The VJ Hunt is part of the channel's overall strategy to infuse new life into its programming, telecast in regional languages as well as English. Apart from an ability to carry oneself confidently and a general presence of mind, the channel is on the lookout for individuals fluent in the South Indian languages of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
According to Nischal Kumtakar, head, sales and marketing, SS Music, the channel has seen tremendous growth over the last six months, with national-level clients such as Hero Honda, Motorola, Airtel, Pepsi, Cadbury, Bagpiper and TTK Healthcare, patronising the channel. Distribution has been strengthened, he says, with 96 per cent connectivity in South India and the channel available in other parts of the country as well. |
