Super Selector South Africa 2003 gets rolling with a special show to be aired on January 23 at 7:00 PM on ESPN, when Harsha Bhogle and Navjot Singh Sidhu take the viewers through the finer nuances of cricket - the rules and regulations, how to pay or purchase the 'PIN' and of course - valuable tips on team selection. The expert team would also be joined on the sets by Super Selector's first host and the much acclaimed actor Naseeruddin Shah.
The special edition of the game will require all players to register by paying a nominal fee of Rs 100. To register for the online game, participants will have to purchase a Personal Identification Number (PIN), which could be obtained from either a SIFY i-way by paying cash, from FabMall.com by paying online, redeeming BPCL 'Petromiles' at select outlets or even eating a 'Super Selector' pizza. Through an exclusive deal between ESPN STAR Sports and Domino's, a PIN comes free with every "Super Selector" pizza purchased between January 23 to March 22, 2003.
The Super Selector South Africa 2003 game registrations open immediately after the launch show on January 23 and the game ends on March 22, the day before the final match of the tournament. During the period there are daily prizes to be won and a 'grand prize' of Rs 20 lakh. This prize will go to the 'Super Selector' for selecting the team of 11 players aggregating the highest scores throughout the two-month tournament. Both the daily prizes and the prizes given away at the end of various stages, increase in value through the stages of the tournament. The daily prize for selecting the highest scoring team go up to Rs 1 lakh for the final match.
At the end of each stage of the tournament, there are prizes for selecting the highest scoring team at the end of 'Round Robin' and during the 'Second Round' as well. And, each 'Super Selector' has the opportunity to add to his/her booty of prize money by winning at every stage of the tournament.
There are no limits on the number of teams a selector can pick for the Super Selector South Africa 2003. Each selector is given 40 substitutions with each team lasting the entire duration of the contest.
Besides the online game, there is also a daily SMS game, where contestants get to pick the player-of-the-day and win daily, on all 33 matchdays of the South African safari. At the end of the South African safari, one lucky winner will pick up a cash prize of Rs 50,000. |
