| ZEE News has put in place an aggressive programming line-up to cover the forthcoming assembly elections across five states. Through state-of-the-art technology and viewer interface, an impressive programming schedule and a battery of highly experienced reporters will "ensure coverage at a scale unprecedented in news television", says a company release.
Keeping in mind the nature of the elections - which is being viewed as a build-up to the general elections next year - programmes like Singhasan Ka Semi Final is already on air across the channel's prime-time news bulletins.
Through October and leading up to the elections in November-December, ZEE News reporters will visit each constituency through a special programme called MLA Ki Class. ZEE News plans to cover over 200 constituencies though this exercise. Given the volatile nature of elections, ZEE News will conduct a weekly poll across four states. These are Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The survey will go back to the people each week to see if there has been a shift in voting patterns. Called Kaun Kitne Paani Mein, this programme will be the ultimate test for a party/leader. Based on the ZEE###SQ###s successful concept of Aap Ki Adalat, this weekly programme will be a rapid fire volley of questions on a known leader from each state. Netaji Kahin will investigate the leaders performance since the last elections.
The channel will also air a daily half-hour prime-time programme Kissa Kursi Ka. This discussion-based programme will invite two prominent leaders from opposing political parties for a debate on the show.
Once the candidate list is announced, ZEE News reporters will accompany prominent leaders on their campaign. The campaign trail will be covered in a six-minute capsule. |
