Young, beautiful, seductive, slim, perfect models from distinguished fashion magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Elle and Glamour are the envy of women across the globe. With the premiere series, Cover Shot, Discovery Travel & Living dispels the myths about beauty and proves that anyone can look and feel like a cover model, if only given the right ingredients - hair, make-up, clothes and a creative team of experts to support and transform them.

In each episode of the premier series Cover Shot, one lucky, unsuspecting woman will be selected and given a photo spread of a lifetime, transforming her into a cover girl in a blink of an eye. Supermodel Frederique van der Wal will unleash the inner and outer beauty of women in their 30’s and 40’s and fulfill their dreams of going from “super mom” to “super model.”

Cover Shot will air on Discovery Travel & Living, every Friday at 10 pm from March 30th with a repeat every Sunday at 1 pm.

In each episode, Frederique assembles a special team of wardrobe stylists, make-up professionals and hair experts suited to each woman who will be the subject of a keen photographic eye. Every woman is given the star treatment from Frederique picking them up from their homes in a limousine, to being outfitted in elegant and designer clothing, to undergoing the latest in facial and skin regimens, among other exclusive luxuries.

Not only will the fruits of the creative team’s labour be realised in the transformation, but Cover Shot also brings the cover model to New York City for an even bigger reveal – her glamorous photo spread on a giant billboard for millions to see.

Episode Descriptions

Deborah M:
Deborah has recently lost nearly 300 pounds but still does not feel beautiful. The Cover Shot team must make Deborah comfortable in her own skin and show her she can be the regal woman she has always dreamed of being.

Candace C:
After recently calling off her engagement of four years, Candace finds herself all alone in the city that never sleeps. Frederique and the rest of the Cover Shot team must step in and reignite the flames in Candace's dormant love life.

Brita D:
Brita has been struggling with depression and a lack of self-esteem. Quickly approaching 30, she is a shy girl who doesn't date and simply goes through the motions at work. She knows she needs help to make a change. The Cover Shot team has their job cut out for them.

Tennille F:
Tennille is a single mother with Multiple Sclerosis who works full-time for L'Oreal and has a second part-time job. Tennille wants to still look and feel like a glamorous woman and not a standoffish person ruled by her illness.

Violeta G:
Forced to give up her own dreams of being a dancer when she had her first child, Violeta is a truly inspirational woman. She still immerses herself in her passion for dance, though she would love to see herself looking pretty once again.

Elizabeth B:
Elizabeth has literally been transformed since her gastric bypass surgery last year. She has lost more than 150 pounds and gained an incredible amount of confidence in the process. She's finally starting to feel pretty for the first time in a very long time and is finally ready to go out, date and do things she never had the confidence to do before, including have her photo taken.

Dori Daus:
With three kids and three jobs, Dori Daus has a lot on her plate. With all of her attention focused on her responsibilities, she devotes no energy to herself. The Cover Shot team gives her 48 hours of pampering as they attempt to take Dori's mind off of her cluttered life, allowing her to find her inner diva.

Simone Harris:
Simone Harris, in addition to being a busy professional woman, is also planning her wedding and renovating a brownstone with her fiancé. Simone feels that her husband-to-be has never seen her looking truly sexy. The team is on hand to bring out the vixen in Simone and show her fiancé a sexy side he will never forget.

Leslie:
Leslie is married and has a three-year old daughter. Balancing her life as a career woman and family woman has been very difficult. She needs some solid pampering and is nothing short of spoiled by the Cover Shot team.

Dulcie:
At her age, Dulcie has been through more medically than most people will ever encounter in a lifetime. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare disease and had to undergo thoracic and brain surgery. The Cover Shot team works to transform her look.

Raquel:
Married with children, 37-year-old Raquel is a teacher who lives in Westchester, New York. Diet and exercise overshadow her entire life. Although she has been losing weight, she faces a constant struggle with her self-image. The team steps in to help Raquel realize that she's a beautiful woman.

Dee:
Divorced eight years ago just after her daughter was born, 43-year-old Dee has been a struggling single mom. The Cover Shot team transforms her so that she can see herself in a new light.

Saran:
35-year-old New Orleans, Louisiana, resident Saran was displaced by Hurricane Katrina and is starting a new life in New York City. After working in the arts to help create careers for others, she has decided to pursue her own dreams. Frederique and fashion photographer Richard Dean celebrate Saran's new chapter in life with a photo shoot and a few surprises that she will never forget.
